An all grey kit was introduced in 1987, which was used until the 1991–92 centenary season, when it was replaced by a combination of green shirts and white shorts. After various colour combinations in the 1990s, including gold and navy, bright yellow, black and grey, and ecru , the club alternated between yellow and white away kits until the 2008–09 season, when it re-introduced the grey kit.

그러나 1987년, 상·하의 모두 회색의 유니폼이 소개되었고, 1991 - 92시즌까지 사용되었다. 가끔 녹색 상의와 흰색 하의 유니폼도 입었었다. 1990년대에 금색과 짙은 감색, 밝은 노란색, 검정색과 회색, 베이지색 등등 여러가지 색상 조합이 있었고 2009년에 이르기까지 회색 유니폼과 노란색, 흰색 유니폼을 번갈아가며 사용하고 있다.[26] 현재 리버풀의 유니폼은 [뉴발란스]가 디자인 하고 있으며 과거 85년부터 96년까지 리버풀 유니폼을 디자인 하기도 했었다.
