The building of the power line between O Irixo and Lalín is causing serious public concern on account of its environmental impact on woodlands of great ecological value, the fragas de Casas Vellas, which form a continuation of the fragas de Catasós, a protected natural area, and have ancient chestnut trees considered to be the best examples of their kind in Europe.
