The method comprises: a mechanochemical step for mixing trimanganese tetraoxide and lithium hydroxide such that the molar ratio of manganese (x) and lithium (y) is x:y = 1:1 to 1.5:1, and subjecting the mixture to mechanochemical pulverization; a pre-calcining step for then pre-calcining in a temperature range of 375oC to 450oC in air or an oxygen atmosphere; a calcining step for then cooling, mixing, and pulverizing, followed by calcining in a temperature range of 475oC to 550oC in air or an oxygen atmosphere in order to obtain a spinel-type lithium manganate with excess oxygen; and an elution step for eluting lithium by treating the spinel-type lithium manganate with excess oxygen using an acid in an amount that is in large excess with respect to the amount of lithium.

Le procédé comprend : une étape mécano-chimique pour mélanger du tétraoxyde de trimanganèse et de l'hydroxyde de lithium de sorte que le rapport molaire de manganèse (x) et de lithium (y) soit x:y = 1:1 à 1,5:1, et soumettre le mélange à une pulvérisation mécano-chimique ; une étape de précalcination pour précalcination ensuite dans une plage de température de 375 oC à 450 oC dans de l'air ou une atmosphère d'oxygène ; une étape de calcination pour ensuite refroidir, mélanger et pulvériser, suivi par la calcination dans une plage de température de 475 oC à 550 oC dans de l'air ou une atmosphère d'oxygène afin d'obtenir du manganate de lithium de type spinelle avec un excès d'oxygène ; et une étape d'élution pour éluer le lithium par traitement du manganate de lithium de type spinelle avec un excès d'oxygène en utilisant un acide en une quantité qui est en large excès par rapport à la quantité de lithium.
