Nevertheless, in some cases it has not been possible to state the reason of morphological and genetic variation since it was not possible to differentiate between introgressive hybridization and other process such as incomplete linage sorting, convergence and ancestral polymorphism selectively maintained.

Sin embargo, en algunos casos no se ha establecido el causante de la variabilidad morfológica y genética, pues no ha sido posible diferenciar entre procesos de hibridación introgresiva y procesos tales como purificación incompleta del linaje, convergencia y polimorfismos ancestrales mantenidos por selección.
