ولذلك ارتئي أن التعريف الأمثل للغلاف الجوي هو التعريف الذي يكون أكثر شمولاً ومطابقاً للتحديد العلمي للغلاف الجوي باعتباره مكوناً من التروبوسفير والستراتوسفير والميزوسفير والغلاف الحراري، أو يكون ذا صلة بأثر الغلاف الجوي في وجود البشرية والبيئة.
