This is the sixth edition of the Spanish and Portuguese film festival Lumen organizes in cooperation with the Spanish and Portuguese embassies, Instituto Cervantes, the Portuguese film institute ICA and local Spanish and Portuguese organizations.

El film inaugural, LA SOLEDAD , obtuvo el premio a la mejor película y al mejor director. Maribel Verdú (por fin) ganó un Goya como mejor actriz por su papel protagonista en SIETE MESAS DE BILLAR FRANCÉS y EL ORFANATO ganó el premio al mejor director revelación y al mejor guión original.
