বয়ঃসন্ধির সময় পুরুষ স্তন অপূর্ণাঙ্গ থাকে, কিন্তু ঐ মহিলাদের স্তন এর বিকাশ হতে থাকে আর এই বিকাশ প্রধানত ইস্ট্রজেন এবং প্রজেস্টেরন হরমোনের উপস্থিতির কারণে হয়ে থাকে। নারীর স্তনই সাধারণত সংবেদনশীল।

At puberty, the male's breasts remain rudimentary but the female's develop further, mainly due to the presence of estrogen and progesterone, and become much more sensitive than the male ones.
