Not only his (amicable) parting of the ways with these artists, but also his departure from the world of the wealthy bourgeoisie is captured in one of Wolker’s most well known poems “Tvář za sklem” (‘The face behind the glass’), set in this café and later included in the collection Těžká hodina (Onerous Hour) (1922).
