Although he first came to attention for his performances in serious dramatic roles, (notably in his first screen appearance in Brian De Palma’s Casualties of War), John C. Reilly soon established himself as one of the most gifted and popular comedy actors of his generation, standing out in numerous TV shows and series and on the big screen in films produced by Judd Apatow (Walk Hard and Step Brothers). Another tribute will focus on the visual artist Philippe Parreno, who is passionately interested in film, and has made several shorts that are showing together for the first time at Locarno, as well as the feature film Zidane, un portrait du 21e siècle co-directed with Douglas Gordon.
