হিন্দু ধর্ম ভারতের প্রধান ধর্ম। হিন্দু ধর্ম কয়েক শতাব্দী ধরে বৈদিক সময় থেকে উদ্ভূত হয়েছে যখন সেখানে প্রাণী উপাসনায় কোন নিষেধ ছিল না এবং খাদ্য আহরণের জন্য প্রাণী আহার, পরবর্তীতে বুদ্ধ এবং জৈন-প্রভাবিত যুগে যা প্রাণীদের প্রতি অহিংস্রতা এবং শ্রদ্ধা, অহিংসা (অহিংস্রতা)-এর আরও প্রশস্ত ধারণার অভিযোজনের দিকে নিয়ে যায়, যা হিন্দু বিশ্বাসের একটি প্রধান ধারণা। । মানুষ এবং প্রাণীরা একই পরিবারভুক্ত এবং এ কারনে, মানুষদের অবশ্যই সকল জীবিত প্রাণীকে শ্রদ্ধা এবং দয়ার সাথে ব্যবহার করা উচিৎ। পোষা প্রাণীদের সাথে এমন ব্যবহার করা হয় যেন তারা সত্যিই পরিবারের সদস্য ।

Hinduism is the primary religion of India . Hinduism has evolved over several centuries from Vedic times when there was no restriction on animal worship and also animal consumption for food, to later Buddhist and Jain-influenced eras that led to a wider concept adaptation of non-violence and respect for animals, ahimsa (non-violence) is a major concept in Hindu belief . Humans and animals are one family and therefore, humans should treat all living creatures with respect and kindness. Pets are often treated as if they are truly members of the family .
