এ প্রক্রিয়ার সময়ও কিছু আচার পালন করা হয়, যেমন তাওয়ায় ফুলের পাপড়ি সেঁকা হয়, যেসব দড়ি দিয়ে খড়ের চালা বাঁধা হয় তা কেটে ফেলা হয়, তালা খুলে ফেলা হয়, দরজার কব্জা খুলে ফেলা হয়, সঞ্চিত ধানের আবরণ তুলে নেওয়া হয়, বাঁশের গাঁইট ছেঁটে ফেলা হয়।
