এই মুদ্রার একটা বিশেষ রাজনৈতিক বৈশিষ্ট্য ছিল। যখনই কোন নতুন সম্রাট সিংহাসনে বসতেন তখনই পূর্ববর্তী শাসকের আমলের মুদ্রা হয়ে যেত 'সনৎ' (অবমূল্যায়নকৃত) এবং এ সকল মুদ্রাকে 'বাট্টা'র আওতায় আনা হতো।
