ويساعد المكتب وكيل الأمين العام في إعداد الخطة البرنامجية والأولويات لفترة السنتين، وإعداد وإدارة ورصد الميزانية البرنامجية، وإدارة الصناديق الاستئمانية وغيرها من الموارد الخارجة عن الميزانية، ويقدم خدمات الدعم ذات الصلة لاستخدام الموارد البشرية بكفاءة، ويقوم بتخطيط ومراقبة وتنسيق الاحتياجات المتصلة بالإدارة العامة للمكاتب.

It assists the Under-Secretary-General in the preparation of the biennial programme plan and priorities, the preparation, administration and monitoring of the programme budget and the management of trust funds and other extrabudgetary resources, provides relevant support services for the efficient utilization of human resources and plans and controls and coordinates requirements related to general office administration.
