According to the WWF, Europe now finds it only has 3% of its unexploited natural resources left. The rest are either being exploited or have been exhausted. The political crisis is obvious. While we scream blue murder when tall buildings are burnt in the state of Egypt, we forget that protesting students took over Conservative headquarters in London, that young people in Rome have been brutally suppressed, that France is suffering racial isolation and massive workers strikes, that four million people are unemployed in Spain and that Germany (Huxley’s happy world) is living off the huge industrial and energy investments it has made in developing countries.

Europa se encuentra con 3% de sus recursos naturales sin explotar (WWF). El resto están siendo explotados o ya están agotados. La crisis política es evidente... Mientras gritamos a los cuatro vientos sobre la quema de grandes edificios del Estado en Egipto, olvidamos que los estudiantes en Londres se han tomado como protesta la sede del partido conservador, los jóvenes en Roma han sido brutalmente reprimidos, Francia vive un aislamiento racista y grandes huelgas obreras, España se encuentra con 4 millones de parados, y Alemania (el mundo feliz de Huxley) vive de las grandes inversiones industriales, y energéticas en países en vías de desarrollo.
