ومن بين هذه الاتفاقات، تجدر الإشارة إلى اتفاقية حفظ وإدارة الأرصدة السمكية الكثيرة الارتحال في غرب ووسط المحيط الهادئ، واتفاقية حفظ وإدارة موارد مصائد الأسماك في جنوب شرق المحيط الأطلسي، والاتفاق الإطاري لحفظ الموارد البحرية الحية في أعالي البحار بجنوب شرق المحيط الهادئ (“اتفاق غلاباغوس”) التي تتضمن أحكاما تؤكد ضرورة العمل على تحقيق استدامة الأرصدة السمكية على المدى الطويل، واتساق التدابير داخل المناطق الخاضعة للولاية الوطنية وخارجها، والإدارة التي تستند إلى النظم الإيكولوجية وتطبيق النهج التحوطي، فضلا عن الدور الهام للمعلومات العلمية في إدارة مصائد الأسماك

Among those agreements, attention should be drawn to the Convention on the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific # the Convention on the Conservation and Management of Fishery Resources in the South-East Atlantic Ocean (SEAFO) # and the Framework Agreement for the Conservation of Living Marine Resources on the High Seas of the South-East Pacific (“Galapagos Agreement”) # which include provisions underlining the requirement of long-term sustainability of fish stocks, compatibility of measures within and beyond areas under national jurisdiction, ecosystem-based management and application of the precautionary approach, as well the important role of scientific information in fisheries management

Entre estos acuerdos, cabe mencionar la Convención sobre la conservación y ordenación de las poblaciones de peces altamente migratorios del Océano Pacífico occidental y central, la Convención sobre la conservación y ordenación de los recursos pesqueros del Océano Atlántico sudoriental y el Acuerdo marco para la conservación de los recursos marinos vivos de la alta mar en el Pacífico sudoriental (“Acuerdo de Galápagos”), que incluyen disposiciones que subrayan la necesidad de la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de las poblaciones de peces, la compatibilidad de las medidas en las zonas sujetas a jurisdicción nacional y fuera de estas zonas, la ordenación basada en el ecosistema y la aplicación del enfoque precautorio, así como la importancia del papel que desempeña la información científica en la ordenación de la pesca
