These two works have a significant value in this “sexennial of inculturation” that our Institute is living because they show specific aspects of the local culture: the garments of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, inspired by traditional costumes; the typical houses of the area; the tissues of the local crafts; the landscape and crops of the Island of Flores... The gestures and expressions of the three members of the Holy Family collect likewise elements of oriental art.

Estas dos obras adquieren un valor significativo en este “sexenio de la inculturación” que vive nuestro Instituto porque muestran aspectos concretos de la cultura local: las vestimentas de Jesús, María y José, inspiradas en los trajes tradicionales; las viviendas típicas de la zona; los tejidos de la artesanía local; el paisaje y cultivos de la isla de Flores... Los gestos y expresiones de los tres miembros de la Sagrada Familia recogen igualmente elementos del arte oriental.
