Amina Omar, zpěvačka kapely Siti and the Band, která 10. února oblažila publikum zanzibarskou odnoží soulu s názvem Taarab spojenou s prvky tradiční africké hudby, poděkovala Karoli za to, že jako jedna z mála veřejně promluvila o různých formách útlaku a šikany, s nimiž se ženy potýkají, a to nejen v hudebním průmyslu, ale v celé společnosti.
