وفي حالة المساعدة الانتخابية، فإن الآلية المنشأة حديثا للتنسيق المشترك بين الوكالات بشأن المساعدة الانتخابية المقدمة من الأمم المتحدة، والمذكرة التوجيهية المنقحة التي تبين أدوار ومسؤوليات كل من إدارة الشؤون السياسية وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، قد ساعدتا على زيادة توضيح الأدوار والمسؤوليات، ولكن لا بد من عمل المزيد.

In the case of electoral assistance, the newly established inter-agency coordination mechanism for United Nations electoral assistance and the revised note of guidance outlining the respective roles and responsibilities of the Department of Political Affairs and UNDP have helped further to clarify roles and responsibilities, but more needs to be done.

Что касается помощи в проведении выборов, то появление вновь созданного Межучрежденческого координационного механизма по вопросам оказания Организацией Объединенных Наций помощи в проведении выборов и подготовка пересмотренного Руководства с изложением соответствующих функций и обязанностей Департамента по политическим вопросам и ПРООН способствовали дальнейшему прояснению их функций и обязанностей, однако и здесь требуется сделать больше.
