وفي إطار الرعاية الصحية الأولية، ساهم وجود أطباء وممرضي الأسرة مساهمة فعالة في العمل مع المجموعات الضعيفة، وتحديد الأشخاص ذوي السلوك الجنسي الخطر وإلحاقهم بالمستوصفات لكي يحصلوا على المعلومات والمشورة بغرض تغيير سلوكهم، مما يؤدي إلى تأخير البدء في إقامة العلاقات الجنسية الأولى، وتشجيع استخدام الرفالات وإتاحة الاختبارات التشخيصية الطوعية المقدمة بدءا من هذا المستوى وحتى رعاية المستوى الثالث

With regard to primary health care, doctors and nurses specializing in family health are working with vulnerable groups. Persons whose sexual behaviour places them at risk are identified and referred to dispensaries where they receive information and advice on behaviour modification. This has helped to delay the age of initiation into sexual relations and to encourage the use of condoms. Voluntary diagnostic testing is available from the primary to the tertiary levels of health care

En la Atención Primaria de salud, la existencia de los médicos y enfermeras de la familia ha sido efectiva para el trabajo con los grupos vulnerables, la identificación de personas con conducta sexual de riesgo y su dispensarización, con el propósito que reciban información y asesoramiento para el cambio de conducta, logrando así el retraso en el inicio de las primeras relaciones sexuales, el uso del condón, el acceso a las pruebas diagnósticas voluntarias que se brindan desde ese nivel hasta la Atención Terciaria
