To address the problem of arsenic accumulation in rice grains, researchers at Lucknow- based CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute developed transgenic rice by inserting a novel fungal gene, which results in reduced arsenic accumulation in rice grain.

चावल में आर्सेनिक जमावकी समस्या को दूर करने के लिए, लखनऊ स्थित सीएसआईआर-राष्ट्रीय वनस्पति अनुसंधान संस्थान (एनबीआरआई) के शोधकर्ताओं ने कवकीय जीन का इस्तेमाल करते हुए आर्सेनिक का कम जमावकरने वाली चावल की ट्रांसजेनिक प्रजाति विकसित की है।
