In addition, the CAHWCA indicates that special pleas of autrefois acquit, autrefois convict or pardon may not be pleaded when the person was tried in a court of a foreign state and the proceedings in that court were for the purpose of, inter alia, shielding the person from criminal responsibility or were inconsistent with an intent to bring the person to justice.
