अनुसंधान और विकास में उन्नत जीवधारी पौध की किस्मों के विकास के जरिए प्रजाति में सुधार और प्रतिष्ठित राष्ट्रीय अनुसंधान संगठनों जैसे आईआईटी, सीएसआईआर, भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान और जापान, चीन, बल्गारिया आदि में रेशम उत्पादन के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संस्थानों के साथ मिलकर अनुसंधान के जरिए बीमारी प्रतिरोधी रेशम कीट पालन में सुधार. कच्चे रेशम के कोवे से पूर्व और कोवे के बाद के क्षेत्रों में तकनीकी सुधार शामिल है
