Die Mehrzahl dieser Tumoren zeigt hormonelle Aktivitäten. Der von uns beobachtete maligne Leydig-Zell-Tumor weist neben einem ungewöhnlichen Hormonprofil zusätzlich ein Markerenzym — die alkalische Phosphatase — auf.

While most of these tumors are combined with hormonal dysfunction, the present tumor, apart from its uncommon hormonal profile, is remarkable because of its capacity of producing and secreting a marker enzyme, alkaline phosphatase.
