In addition to subsuming a number of ongoing activities already contributing to health-related MDGs, such as the production of malaria nets in Rwanda and the work of the UNIDO/International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS) in Trieste on computer-aided drug design, an enhanced programme would also provide synergies with initiatives such as Labnet, a global laboratory network operational under the auspices of UNIDO and the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO).
