In this article we will try to show how the development took place, what circumstances, companies and characters influenced the modernization of this city, always relying on historical documents backed by the bibliography, whose relationship is mentioned at the end of this writing, and that, without place to doubt, is part of the history of Barranquilla.

En este artículo intentaremos mostrar cómo se operó el desarrollo, qué circunstancias, empresas y personajes influyeron en la modernización de esta ciudad, ateniéndonos siempre a documentos históricos respaldados por la bibliografía, cuya relación se menciona al final de este escrito, y que, sin lugar a dudas, hace parte de la historia de Barranquilla.
