والعلاقات التي أنشئت بين البلدين هي أساس متين لاستئناف المفاوضات بهدف بلوغ حل سلمي وتفاوضي للمشكلة طبقا لقرارات اللجنة الخاصة والجمعية العامة، وكذلك إعلانات منظمة الدول الأمريكية الداعية إلى استئناف المفاوضات بين البلدين بهدف حل نزاع السيادة وإنهاء وضع استعماري.

The relations that had been established between the two countries were a firm basis for the resumption of negotiations with a view to reaching a peaceful and negotiated solution to the problem in accordance with the resolutions of the Special Committee and the General Assembly, as well as the declarations of the Organization of American States which called for a resumption of negotiations between the two countries with a view to the resolution of the sovereignty dispute and the ending of a colonial situation.

El alto nivel alcanzado en las relaciones de ambos países constituye una sólida base para reanudar las negociaciones con vistas al logro de una solución pacífica y negociada en esta materia, de conformidad con lo dispuesto en las resoluciones del Comité Especial de Descolonización y de la Asamblea General, así como en las declaraciones de la Organización de los Estados Americanos, en las que se han formulado llamamientos en favor de que se reinicien las negociaciones entre ambos países para resolver la disputa de soberanía que mantienen sobre las Islas Malvinas y poner fin a esa situación colonial.

Les relations entre les deux pays constituent une base solide pour la reprise des négociations en vue de parvenir à une solution pacifique négociée au problème conformément aux résolutions du Comité spécial et de l’Assemblée générale, ainsi qu’aux déclarations de l’Organisation des États américains qui appellent la reprise des négociations entre les deux pays en vue du règlement du conflit de souveraineté et la cessation de la situation coloniale.
