وأعلنت منظمة العفو الدولية عن معارضتها لعقوبة الاعدام باعتبارها انتهاكا لحقوق الانسان الأساسية، أي الحق في الحياة والحق في عدم اخضاعه لمعاملة أو عقوبة قاسية أو لاانسانية أو مهينة.

Amnesty International stated that it opposed the death penalty as a violation of fundamental human rights, that is, the right to life and the right not to be subjected to cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment.
