Every time I read some text presenting the Protestant Reformation as liberator of humanity, in opposition to the supposed oppression imposed by the Catholic Church; every time I heard someone accuse the Spanish Catholic of being a murderer of natives while the Protestant Englishman was praised for his daring in dealing with foreign peoples, something inside me would revolt.

Cada vez que leía algún texto exaltando a la Reforma Protestante como liberadora de la humanidad, en contraste con la supuesta opresión impuesta por la Iglesia; cada vez que escuchaba a alguien acusar al católico español de asesino de indios mientras que el inglés puritano era alabado por su osadía en tierras extrañas, algo en mis entrañas se revolvía.
