Mit dem Aufkommen der Nanotechnologie und der Chance, elektrische Systeme in Atomgröße bauen zu können, werden mit dem möglichen Einsatz nanotechnisch hergestellter Biochips bei der Behandlung von Gewebe und durch Trauma des Zentralnervensystems und Krankheiten verursachten funktionellen Schäden neue Grenzen überwunden.

With the advent of nanotechnology and the possibility to build electrical systems on the scale of atoms, the potential for the use of nano-engineered biochips in treating tissue and functional damage caused by CNS trauma and disease is creating new frontiers.
