IFCA sets out to enable associations and federations of Catholic Action movements in different countries to get to know each other; to promote initiatives to support and develop the specific service that they are called to provide consistently with their identity, with all the variety of different forms they take due to their cultural, social and ecclesial contexts; to deepen the study of issues affecting the life and the mission of the Church at the universal, continental or regional levels; to establish forms of dialogue and cooperation with all the lay apostolate organisations at the international level; to represent the associations and federations of Catholic Action movements belonging to the Forum before the Holy See and civil international organisations.

Le FIAC se propose de favoriser la connaissance réciproque entre les associations et fédérations de mouvements d’Action Catholique des différents pays; de promouvoir des initiatives pour soutenir et développer le service spécifique qu’elles sont appelées à accomplir de façon cohérente avec leur identité, bien que dans la diversité des façons et des formes requises par la diversité du contexte culturel, social et ecclésial; d’approfondir l’étude des problèmes qui concernent la vie et la mission de l’Église au niveau universel, continental ou régional; d’établir des rapports de dialogue et de collaboration avec toutes les organisations d’apostolat laïc au niveau international; de représenter auprès du Saint-Siège et auprès des et les fédérations de mouvements d’Action Catholique appartenant au Forum.
