39 - وأكد المجلس أنه منذ أوائل التسعينات، انخفضت القوة الشرائية للإعانة انخفاضا كبيرا وأنها لم تعد تكفي لتغطية حتى تكاليف المدير، وبالتالي فإنها لا تفي بغرضها الأصلي المنصوص عليه في النظام الأساسي للمعهد الذي اعتمدته الجمعية العامة.

The Board stressed that since the early 1990s, the purchasing power of the subvention had decreased substantially and that it no longer supported even the costs of the Director, thus falling short of its original purpose as set out in the UNIDIR statute, adopted by the General Assembly.

La Junta subrayó que, desde principios de la década de 1990, el poder adquisitivo de la subvención se había reducido considerablemente y ya no cubría siquiera los gastos del Director, por lo tanto no estaba a la altura de su objetivo original establecido en el estatuto del UNIDIR, que fue aprobado por la Asamblea General.
