The results showed that the reaction between the two silicas and the calcium hydroxide of the cement increase the mechanical properties, and also make that it ́s reaction with the calcium hydroxide forms complexes of calcium silicates (tobermorite), factor that is increased in both cases by the amorphous character of the materials used and the surface area, being the pirosil’s surface area 140 time higher than the surface area of the cement, which favors the reactivity and increases it’s poozolanic character.

Los resultados mostraron que la reacción entre las dos sílices y el hidróxido de calcio del cemento aumentan las resistencias mecánicas, y además hacen que su reacción con el hidróxido de calcio forme complejos de silicatos cálcicos (tobermorita), factor que se ve incrementado en ambos casos por el carácter amorfo de los materiales utilizados y el área superficial, siendo la del pirosil 140 veces mas alta que la del cemento, la cual favorece la reactividad, y aumenta su carácter puzolánico.
