In its last report the State indicated that on April 18, 2002, in the intendancy of the IV Region of Coquimbo, the seat of the regional government, the Chilean State fully implemented the friendly settlement agreement that was reached, by means of a public act to make reparation for the injury to the petitioner, which included the symbolic awarding of the President of the Republic Scholarship, as from March of this year, and so long as she continues her higher education, and that petitioner Mónica Carabantes Galleguillos is receiving the scholarship as of March of this year, for an average monthly amount of $ 35,000 (equivalent to approximately US$ 50).

En su último informe el Estado precisó que el 18 de abril de 2002, en la intendencia de la IV Región de Coquimbo, sede del Gobierno Regional, el Estado de Chile dio cabal cumplimiento al acuerdo de solución amistosa acordado, mediante la realización de un acto público de desagravio a la peticionaria, que incluyó la entrega simbólica de la Beca Presidente de la República, a contar del mes de marzo del presente año y mientras curse su enseñanza superior y que la peticionaria Mónica Carabantes Galleguillos se encuentra percibiendo la beca desde el mes de marzo del presente año, por un monto promedio mensual de $ 35.000 (equivalentes aproximadamente a US$ 50).
