If you have no acquaintance with the subject, you will find that the actual practice of the exercises themselves will give you a much clearer knowledge than any amount of theoretical teaching, for as the old Hindu proverb says, "He who tastes a grain of mustard seed knows more of its flavor than he who sees an elephant load of it."

No podemos en esta obra profundizar el asunto del poder de la voluntad y además debemos presumir que el lector tiene algún conocimiento del asunto; si así no fuera, encontrará que la práctica de los ejercicios mismos dará un conocimiento mucho más claro que cualquier suma de enseñanzas teóricas, pues como dice el antiguo proverbio hindú: “El que prueba un grano de semilla de mostaza conoce mejor su sabor que aquel que ve un elefante cargado de ella”.
