Ifølge beslutning nr. 1692/96/EF om Fællesskabets retningslinjer for udvikling af det transeuropæiske transportnet (TEN)(1) er lufthavnen i Santiago de Compostela (i Galicien) en fællesskabslufthavn; lufthavnen er således berettiget til samfinansiering over fællesskabsbudgettet.
