La présente invention concerne un procédé pour déplacer un volet roulant à une vitesse contrôlée selon une trajectoire ascendante ou descendante, ainsi qu'un système d'actionnement associé. Ce procédé consiste à mettre en mouvement le volet roulant par l'intermédiaire de systèmes motorisés et à freiner le volet roulant à l'aide de systèmes de freinage fonctionnant indépendamment des systèmes motorisés, de manière à maintenir une vitesse souhaitée du volet roulant sur la trajectoire.
