The AA describe a stereotaxic apparatus, by means of which it is possible to bring one lesion or a series of lesions of modifiable intensity into the nucleus of the thalamus and into the hypothalamus. The reference points are determined by a roentgenography made with the apparatus fixed on the head in the same manner and with the same exactness with which it will be fixed at the time of the operation. If the pineal body is not visualized, a pneumoencephalogram is necessary.
