On the maternal side he is the grandson of the poet cofounder of The Papelipolas and motor of education, Victor Manuel Cortes Vargas (Angel Sierra Basto in the poetry), Pitalito poet by antonomasia, secretary of the President of the Senate of Colombia and his wife, Beatriz Rincon Alvarez.

Por el lado materno es nieto del poeta cofundador de Los Papelipolas y motor de la educación, Víctor Manuel Cortes Vargas (Ángel Sierra Basto en la poesía), poeta Pitalito por antonomasia, secretario del Presidente del Senado de Colombia y su esposa, Beatriz Rincon Alvarez. Su educación, se realizó en el Colegio Cooperativo Campestre de Rivera.
