Die Erfindung betrifft ein Befestigungssystem für einen Ährenheber mittels Vorspannung an einem Mähwerk einer fahrbaren Erntemaschine, wobei der Ährenheber aus einem Rampenteil (4), einem Träger (3), und einem mit dem Träger (3) verbundenem Befestigungselement (2) gebildet ist, wobei sich der Träger (3) unterhalb des Rampenteils (4) vom Mähwerk der fahrbaren Erntemaschine aus vorwiegend in Fahrtrichtung nach vorne erstreckt und mit seinem hinteren Ende an der Erntemaschine festlegbar ist und wobei das Befestigungselement (2) zwei Schenkel (2.3, 2.4) und einen diese am oberen Ende verbindenden Steg (2.2) aufweist, zwischen welche der Mähfinger (7) der Erntemaschine einführbar ist.
