Teachers we have always had, and men that have spoken of God, spoken of his power, and spoken of his wisdom; but how to dwell in that power, and stand established in it, so as at all times to resist the power of the wicked one, is what no man can help us do; and upon this account it was, that the Lord's people were willing to cleave close to him, and by faith to have their dependence upon him; and cry in their souls, "Lord, unless you establish me, I shall never be established."

Siempre hemos tenido maestros, y hombres que han hablado de Dios, hablado de su poder, y hablado de su sabiduría; pero cómo morar en ese poder, y permanecer establecidos en él, para que en todo tiempo resistamos el poder del maligno, es lo que ningún hombre nos puede ayudar a hacer; y por cuenta de esto fue que el pueblo del Señor estuvo dispuesto a acercarse a él, y por fe depender de él; y clamar en sus almas "Señor, a menos que tu me establezcas, nunca seré establecido."
