Gaseous signaling molecules are gaseous molecules that are either synthesised internally (endogenously) in the organism, tissue or cell or are received by the organism, tissue or cell from outside (say, from the atmosphere or hydrosphere, as in the case of oxygen) and that are used to transmit chemical signals which induce certain physiological or biochemical changes in the organism, tissue or cell.

Las moléculas gaseosas de señalización son moléculas que son sintetizadas internamente (de manera endógena) en el organismo, tejido o célula o bien son recibidas por el organismo, tejido o célula del exterior (digamos de la atmósfera o la hidrosfera, como en el caso del oxígeno) y que son usadas para transmitir señales químicas que incluyen ciertos cambios fisiológicos o bioquímicos en el organismo, tejido o célula.
