وتوجد عموماً أربع استراتيجيات أساسية للتخفيف هي: الحلول البديلة (أي استخدام الطرق اليدوية أو استخدام نُظم أخرى بديلة)؛ وتفويض أو نقل عمليات تصريف الأعمال؛ والعمل عن بعد وإنشاء موقع بديل للمكاتب.

In general, there are four main mitigation strategies: workarounds (i.e., manual methods or the use of alternative systems), the devolution or transfer of business processes, telecommuting, and the establishment of an alternate office site.
