Erangel is a fictional island located in the black sea, and was the very first map introduced in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. The military occupation tested chemical/biological experiments on the local populace, and a local resistance movement fought to reclaim the island which eventually leads to the island becoming abandoned.
