Après Pisos et Pélops, puis Héraclès, premiers organisateurs du festival et des Jeux Olympiques, les Péloponnésiens laissèrent les cérémonies pour un certain temps, pendant lequel, à savoir dès Iphitos jusqu’à Coroebos d’Elide, on compte vingt-huit Olympiades ; ils négligèrent les Jeux et une guerre fut déclarée dans tout le Péloponnèse.
