Geophysical activity in Earth's mantle is responsible for a remarkably wide variety of dynamic interactions between Earth's liquid core and solid overlying mantle, between different layers within the mantle, between the mantle and external crust, and even between Earth and other planets in the solar system. As a geophysicist, Dr. Alessandro Forte has focused his work on global geodynamics, and specifically on the connection between convection inside Earth's solid mantle and the movement of tectonic plates at the surface.

L'activité géophysique du manteau terrestre est responsable de plusieurs types d'interaction dynamique entre la surface liquide et la croûte terrestre, entre les différentes couches du manteau terrestre, entre le manteau et la croûte externe et même entre la terre et les autres planètes du système solaire. Grâce à sa formation en géophysique, M. Alessandro Forte a mené des travaux sur la géodynamique à l'échelle globale, plus précisément sur le rapport entre la convection dans la croûte terrestre solide et le mouvement des plaques tectoniques à la surface.
