وبالتعاون مع منظمات البحث الوطنية في أوغندا وجمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة، بدأ المعهد والدائرة الدولية لاكتساب تطبيقات التكنولوجيا الحيوية الزراعية أيضا لتنفيذ مبادرة لتوسيع نطاق مشروع استخدام التكنولوجيات الأحيائية في إنتاج الموز ليشمل البلدان المجاورة.

An initiative to extend the banana biotechnology project to the neighbouring countries has also been started by KARI and the International Service for the Acquisition of Agro-biotech Applications (ISAAA) in collaboration with national research organizations in Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania.
