Following the capsize, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Inspector Jahangir Bhuiya filed a case against six people, including launch owner AB Siddique and his son Omar, with the Lauhajang police station on grounds of irresponsible driving and risking passengers' lives for profit by carrying more than capacity.
