Zu nennen sind in diesem Zusammenhang u. a. der Gesundheits- und Umweltsurvey für Kinder und Jugendliche, die Einrichtung der “Risikokommission” und der Kommission “Methoden und Qualitätssicherung in der Umweltmedizin”, erste Arbeiten zur Entwicklung eines Leitfadens zur Risikokommunikation und die Durchführung zahlreicher Forschungsvorhaben zu einzelnen Themenfeldern, z. B. zum MCS-Syndrom (“Multiple Chemical Sensitivity”-Syndrom).

Among the most important activities initiated are a combined National Health and Environmental Survey focusing exclusively on children and teenagers, the establishment of a “Commission on Risks” and a “Commission on Methods and Quality Assurance in Environmental Medicine”, and the development of a guidance document on risk communication, as well as, the implementation of numerous research projects dealing with specific subjects, e.g., the MCS syndrome.
