وتضمنت النقاط البارزة في موجز الرئيس نداء وجهه العديد من قادة العالم لتعزيز الأساس العلمي للاتفاقية من أجل فهم قضية التصحر وتدهور الأراضي والجفاف بشكل أفضل وتعزيز تنفيذ الاتفاقية بوصفها سياسة عالمية وإطارا للرصد من أجل التصدي لمشاكل تدهور الأراضي والتربة في جميع النظم الإيكولوجية المتضررة من تدهور الأراضي، وتحديد هدف وغايات للتنمية المستدامة قابلة للقياس من أجل تمكين المجتمع الدولي من التقدم نحو عالم متوازن من حيث تدهور الأراضي.

Salient elements of the President’s summary included a call by many world leaders for the strengthening of the scientific base of the Convention with a view to a better understanding of desertification, land degradation and drought, the enhancement of the implementation of the Convention as a global policy and monitoring framework for addressing issues of land and soil degradation in all ecosystems affected by land degradation, and the setting-up of a measurable sustainable development goal and targets in order to enable the international community to move towards a land-degradation-neutral world.

Entre los aspectos más destacados del resumen ofrecido por el Presidente cabe señalar el llamamiento realizado por muchos líderes mundiales para fortalecer las bases científicas de la Convención con miras a comprender mejor la desertificación, la degradación de las tierras y la sequía, promover la aplicación de la Convención como política global y marco de supervisión a fin de abordar cuestiones relativas a la degradación de las tierras y el suelo en todos los ecosistemas afectados por la degradación de las tierras y establecer un objetivo y metas de desarrollo sostenible mensurable para permitir que la comunidad internacional avance hacia un mundo con una degradación neutra del suelo.

Parmi les éléments essentiels de ce compte rendu, il convient de souligner un appel venant de nombreux chefs d’État en faveur du renforcement de la base scientifique de la Convention en vue de mieux comprendre la désertification, la dégradation des sols et la sécheresse, le renforcement de la mise en œuvre de la Convention en qualité de cadre mondial de méthode et de suivi pour s’attaquer aux causes de la dégradation des terres et des sols dans tous les écosystèmes affectés par la dégradation des sols, et la mise en place d’un objectif quantifiable de développement durable et des cibles afin de permettre à la communauté internationale d’évoluer vers un monde sans dégradation des sols.

В числе основных моментов в резюме Председателя был отмечен сформулированный многими руководителями стран мира призыв к укреплению научной базы Конвенции в целях углубления понимания опустынивания, деградации земель и засухи, более строгому осуществлению Конвенции в качестве глобальной политики и механизма мониторинга вопросов деградации земель и почв во всех экосистемах, затронутых деградацией земель, и установлению поддающихся количественной оценке целей и показателей устойчивого развития, чтобы международное сообщество могло начать переход к устройству мира, исключающему деградацию земель.
