The six High Courts have appellate jurisdiction over cases decided by a trial panel of three judges in a District Court or Family Court, decisions of the Administrative Court, and civil cases heard before the District Court in which one judge decided and where the amount in controversy exceeds 50,000,000 won. Appeals to the High Court are heard by a panel of three High Court judges. High Courts are located in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejon, and Gwangju.

ศาลสูงของประเทศเกาหลีใต้ในปัจจุบันมีทั้งหมด 6 ศาล ศาลสูงของประเทศเกาหลีใต้มีเขตอํานาจในการพิจารณาคดีอุทธรณ์คําพิพากษาของศาลแขวงที่ผู้พิพากษา 3 ท่านนั่งพิจารณาคดีและทําคําพิพากษา หรือศาลครอบครัว หรือคําวินิจฉัยของศาลปกครอง และ คดีแพ่งที่ได้พิจารณาก่อนหน้าศาลแขวง และเป็นคดีที่ผู้พิพากษาท่านเดียวมีอํานาจพิจารณาและทําคําพิพากษา แต่ต้องมีทุนทรัพย์เกิน 50,000 วอนขึ้นไป สําหรับองค์ณะการพิจารณาคดีในศาลสูงจะประกอบด้วยผู้พิพากษาศาลสูง 3 ท่าน ศาลสูงตั้งอยู่ที่กรุง โซล (Seoul) ปูซาน (Busan) แทกู (Daegu) แทจอน (Daejon) กวางจู (Gwangju)
